Including a photo or any additional details can potentially speed up the process.
The representative will ask for your contact details and give you a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) that contains a personal reference number for tracking purposes. Ensure you don’t lose this document.
In most cases, when baggage goes missing, it is typically found within the first 24 hours. Once your bag has been located, the airline will get in touch with you to schedule a delivery.
Tracking Your Lost Baggage
When you filed the report at the airport, you should have received a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) with a reference number. It’s important to keep this safe because it is needed for tracking your baggage.
To monitor the status of your lost items, utilise the airline’s online baggage tracing system. The representative will provide details on how to use this system when you report your missing bag. Essential details such as your name and the PIR are needed to use this baggage tracer.

Baggage Delayed For 5+ Days

The claim needs to be made within 21 days from the day the delayed baggage is returned.

Lost Baggage (You Can Get Compensation)
Blue Air has a timeframe of 21 days to track and return your baggage.
If your delayed baggage remains untraceable past 21 days, it is then officially considered lost. At this point, you can submit a claim to Blue Air for compensation.
You may be entitled to up to €1300 compensation.
Take note that it’s not recommended to store electronics, art, jewellery, etc., in checked baggage, as Blue Air (or any airline, for that matter) isn’t obligated to provide full compensation for these high-value items, but only up to the limit set by the Montreal Convention and its Conditions of Carriage.
When filing a claim, be ready to present your flight ticket, baggage tags, and the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) along with your reference number. If you’ve made additional purchases while your baggage was delayed, you can also claim these by submitting the receipts for your purchases.
